Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz

In the last couple of years, wearables as a category have seen enormous growth. Take the case of smartwatches – once considered a niche product meant for certain ‘premium’ buyers, they have now infiltrated the entry-level and budget segment as well. A lot of credit for this goes to homegrown brands like Boat and Noise as with value-for-money offerings they have made the category their own. According to a report by IDC, in the overall wearables segment – constitutes of watches, fitness bands and wireless earbuds – it’s the watches that are the “fastest-growing category”.” Interestingly, it’s the so-called basic watches that accounted for 95% of the total watches shipped. Is it a surprise that Noise is getting more aggressive in the segment? Yet another offering comes from Noise in the form of ColorFit Ultra Buzz.

Launched in March 2022, at Rs 3,499, the Noise ColorFir Ultra Buzz is the quintessential entry-level smartwatch on paper. However, as we have seen in the past, on paper doesn’t really translate that well in reality, or in this case, on the wrist. Can the Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz smartwatch make the budget-conscious buyer look up and take note of it? Or is it just another face in the crowd? We used the smartwatch for a while and here we try to answer these questions, and then some more.

Design

The Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz looks more like a fitness band in a smartwatch’s disguise. The wearable is lightweight and comfortable to wear throughout the day. The smartwatch has a 22mm strap size made up of silicon material. However, there are certain silicon straps that often become sweaty, but this wearable is unlike other smartwatches that come with a silicon strap. The wearable weighs 42.5 grams and has a 46.6×38.6mm frame and it is 11.9mm thick which gives it a smart and sleek look. The watch is equipped with only one button that is placed on the right-hand side for smooth navigation. The button can be used for browsing the menu or to just have a look at the display.

The smartwatch features an optical sensor at the back that is used to track heart rate, stress and other features. The backside of the watch also has two metal contact pins that are used for charging. The smartwatch comes in single bands and supports multiple bands. The straps can be purchased from the official website of Noise. The straps come in multiple colour options whereas the smart wearable comes in Charcoal Black, Champagne Grey and Olive Green colour variants. We received the Charcoal Black ColorFit Ultra Buzz for our review.

Display

Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz sports a rectangular 1.75-inch LCD touchscreen display. The display on the device is large and does not comprise when talked about accessibility. It has soothing display colours which make the information easy to read and decipher.

The look of the smartwatch – thanks to its rectangular display – is very much like most devices available on the market. The display is big enough for users to read information with relative ease. The display responds perfectly and we barely noticed any lags while using it. The brightness of the smartwatch can be adjusted as per the requirement and its brightness is enough that we were able to access the feature and view the features of the smartwatch under the scorching sun.

Performance

As mentioned above, the touchscreen response of Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz is quite good. The UI is quite simple and easy to use. When you swipe right, you can view the number of steps walked, calories burnt and other activity status. When you swipe right, you can check the recent history (the device will show ‘You have no call history’ if you have not made calls). When you swipe up, you will be able to access features like calls, DND mode, settings, enable or disable power saving mode, and other features. When you swipe down, you can see the notifications you have received on your smartphone.

The button placed on the right side gives access to all the features that are available in the smartwatch for users. The wearable comes pre-equipped with over 100+ sports modes that keep you fit all time. Talking about activity tracking, the statistics provided by the smartwatch is excellent. We did not face any inaccuracy issues while measuring the heart rate, SPO2, stress, and steps walked. The SpO2 monitor helps in tracking the blood oxygen level at different intervals and via workouts.

Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz can be paired with the NoiseFit app that is available to download from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app UI is quite easy to access like other smartwatch dedicated apps. It helps you to choose from 100+ cloud-based, animated and customisable watch faces. The smartwatch features a grid-based interface which makes it easy to access every piece of information.

Speaking of battery, Noise ColorFit Ultra buzz has left no stone unturned to impress the user. The company claims that the smartwatch can last up to 5 days on a single charge. While reviewing the smartwatch, it turned out to be true to a great extent. It has a power-saving mode that saves the battery to a good extent. The smartwatch can be charged with a two-pin magnetic cradle and takes around two and a half hours to fully charge.

Verdict

Priced at Rs 3,499, the Noise ColorFit Ultra Buzz is an entry-level smartwatch that offers a host of features. Its lightweight design and smooth silicone straps make it comfortable for everyday usage. Noise ColorFit Ultra BUzz can be a good choice for people who are looking for all the contemporary features in their smartwatch that helps in keeping track of fitness and health.
